Poetry by Starlight (2022)

by M. ROCK STONE (2022)

What shall I say?
What would share the meaning
That I wish to convey?

Another day,
Words could ensnare my feelings
‘Ere I slip them away.

Still, I’m pining –
For what I do not know,
Some distant light shining
Or, the faintest glow.

And in my room,
The crazies come and go,
Reeking of Fabergé and D’Adario.

And, well are they
Who should care for gleaning
What it is that they may.

I’m made of clay,
What for where I’m leaning,
There I am – on display.

Still, I’m finding –
All what I do not know,
Some dark night winding
With nothing to show.

And in my gloom,
A swaying to and fro,
Creaking papier-mâché – indeed! – in stereo.
