All at once, the room is filled with a sulfurous cloud and a blinding light, as the sound of a match being struck, pierces the cold, dead silence. There is the silhouette of a small, mean lady of a certain age illuminated in the doorway as the sole point of focus in the darkness. If we could see her expression, it might look something like the curiosity of a cat examining the mouse between her paws to see if it’s actually dead and if the game is really over. She says not a word. When she is satisfied, she turns her back to the foul rotting corpse that she keeps locked up in her dungeon and closes the door behind her.
